The family that eats, hangs, and plays together stays together!
Families come in different sizes and make-ups. But it doesn’t matter if you’d call your family nuclear, blended, multigenerational—you name it! One thing all families have in common is they spend time together. And the King City Showhome has some of the best places to “hang with the fam” you’ve ever seen.
Let’s start in the kitchen, one of the most traditional places for families to gather. Capable of seating nine people at a time or offering a choice between the gorgeous pedestal table or sitting up to the island, this bright, clean, and cheery room sets the tone for the day. You’ll never feel crowded, even with multiple people cooking or looking for things in the ample storage space. There are dual sinks on the island and with the main bank of cabinets, plus a pot-filler over the gas range. Aesthetically, we just love the huge mirror surrounding the cooking area—and it just happens to let the “chef” keep an eye on things when their back is turned!
You may decide to take your food to the nearby dining room if you’re feeling fancy, you’re entertaining, or want to have everyone seated together. Maybe there’s going to be a family discussion about who gets to borrow the Jaguar or how you’ll spend the $500,000 Cash! No matter the reason, this stunning room is a showpiece, with a dramatic monochromatic theme connecting the walls, ceiling, chairs, and curtains and a striking fluted feature wall. Who’s ready to dine in style?
Also on the main level is the sumptuous great room—what a place to claim a spot on the sectional and get comfy for a while! But will you face the TV, the double-sided fireplace, or the view through the lanai to the backyard? It’s not an easy decision! While this is a truly lovely room, you’ll never feel like it’s too “formal” for just being with your family. At the same time, with the raised ceiling, magnificent fireplace, and stylish furnishings, it’s guaranteed to WOW your guests!
The lanai is another spot that will be popular for connecting with the family, with the cozy conversation area and a table for dining (almost) al fresco. On cooler days and when it’s raining, it will be a picturesque area for relaxing together. And when it warms up, you can open all those windows and let in the revitalizing fresh air.
Moving to the lower level, the home theatre is where it’s at for movie nights and big games. There’s plenty of seating and tables for resting drinks and snacks. You’ll love the incredible built-in surround sound system, and the extra-large screen ensures there’s not a bad seat in the house.

When it’s time to do your own thing, there are plenty of options
Now, as wonderful as family time is, it’s just as important for everyone in the family to have space to get away and pursue their own interests. As you might have guessed, the King City Showhome has those, too!
One of our favourites is the lower level gaming lounge! This uber-cool room features some seriously cool seating, including beanbags and overstuffed leather chairs that seem made to provide the perfect gaming angle. There’s a big-screen TV on the wall for all manner of console gaming, plus a desk with a double-width monitor and a gaming chair for the PC gaming fans! There’s excellent storage here for games and extra controllers, and we love the “Gaming Room” light-up sign and video game-inspired art prints. This is bound to be THE place for tweens and teens to hang out with friends or do some solo gaming. Naturally, parents can enjoy the gaming, too—just be sure you’re up to the challenge before you take on the kids!
Attached to the gaming room is the most adorable reading room. This colourful space has all kinds of storage and display options, plus an irresistible “book nook” to sit and read in total peace and quiet. If you ever can’t find the youngest kids in your clan, you’ll want to check here!
Up on the main floor, another nice spot for quiet reflection is the home office. It’s attached to the great room, but you can make it a private space by shutting the two sets of French doors. First, though, take a moment to admire how gorgeous they are! You’ll find a matching pair enclosing the walk-in front entrance closet. We’ve never seen anything like them, and we can’t get enough! Back to the office; it shares the double-sided fireplace with the great room, so you can create a very inviting atmosphere while getting some work done or simply enjoying a bit of downtime.
Your bedroom, your rules (and your closet and ensuite!)
When all the fun and excitement of the day is over, it’s time to retire to your bedroom. There are five bedrooms on the upper level, including a principal suite. Two of the four secondary bedrooms have ensuites, while the remaining two share an ensuite, and all four have walk-in closets.
Each of the four secondary bedrooms has a unique decor, and you’ll have no trouble finding just the right room for everyone in the family. This room has an artistic flair, with the floral wall decorations and the dance-themed prints. The modern four-poster bed is an exquisite piece that adds high-end elegance to the space.
The cuteness factor is cranked way up in this kid-friendly bedroom, featuring a playful safari tent bed and a trio of whimsical stools. The imaginative adventures will never end! And have a good look at the amazing wallpaper! It’s making us think of distressed wood, but we’re not the least bit distressed about the appearance—it’s fabulous!
Even the youngest family member has a special spot of their own. The crazy adorable nursery is a soothing space where a baby can feel safe, warm, and loved. And they may learn some names of those cute woodland creatures on the wallpaper!
The piece de resistance on the upper level is the extraordinary principal suite. This spacious oasis features a sleek and stylish chair and footrest combo that practically begs you to stretch out and relax—after you close the double doors behind you!
The principal suite features dual walk-in closets and a massive ensuite with double sinks, a make-up station, two toilet rooms, and a glassed-in shower room with a rain showerhead and a free-standing soaker tub. We won’t blame you if you declare this mini-spa off-limits to the rest of the family!
These rooms are so good, you’ll want them for yourself—but they're too good not to share!
There are two rooms in the Showhome that you may want to yourself, but which you also will want to share. The first is the main level conservatory. Accessed from either the lanai or the office, this delightful multi-use space features towering windows and casual seating for four in an intimate setting. While you might want to enjoy the sunshine and tranquility (not to mention the fantastic in-laid ceramic floor!) on your own, it’s equally wonderful to share it with others for a quiet chat, a board game, or perhaps some charcuterie and drinks.
The lower level is where you’ll find the wellness room, another place that’s perfect for one or a few. There are plenty of free weights to go around, a yoga mat, and a trio of stationary bikes facing a big-screen TV. You’ll find a wet bar complete with a juicer and towel warmers ready after your workout. Will you aim for a personal best, challenge a family member to go further and faster, or encourage each other to achieve wellness on your own terms? In the end, this could end up being one of the most used rooms in the entire Showhome for the whole family.
