5 Tips For Chilling at the Lakefront Cottage

There’s nothing quite like a cottage for getting away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. It’s a place to gather and spend time with friends and family and recharge.

Here are 5 great ways to unwind for the lucky winner of the Muskoka Lakefront Cottage Early Bird Prize:

1) Take a scenic boat ride
Jump in your brand new 2018 Chaparral 21 H20 speedboat and explore picturesque Loon Lake. Or, try one of the dozens of nearby lakes of Muskoka Region for a relaxing pleasure cruise.

2) Listen to the soothing sounds of the water
There are plenty of places to listen to the calming sound of running water. Muskoka Region has lots of gorgeous waterfalls, including nearby Bala Falls and Bracebridge Falls. Just close your eyes and let the stresses of life wash away!

3) Kick back with a beverage
Sip a dark roast on the dock, or pour a Pinot Noir on the porch. If you feel like getting out, head into Gravenhurst and bring home a craft beer from Sawdust City Brewing Company. Wine lovers will want to to take a short drive to Muskoka Lakes Winery to pick up a bottle of local cranberry wine.

4) Have some old school fun with a board game
There’s something special about a quiet day indoors playing games with the family. Even a rainy day is special when you’re rolling the dice! Keep a few classics at the cottage, and try something new, too. The young ones might not realize how much fun a game without a screen attached can be!

5) Just do your thing
Pull out the binoculars and check out the local wildlife from the covered porch. Dangle your feet off the end of the dock and take in the pristine view, or string up a hammock and read a good book. Life is busy; you’ve earned the chance to do nothing!
